Because they don’t have insurance, and the school told them their kids can’t come back until they’ve been seen by a doctor.
Because the medication is less expensive if you can get a prescription for it.
Because they’ve never been exposed to it, and they don’t know that it’s simple to treat.
Probably many other reasons, but those are the ones that came off the top of my head.
Because they can’t afford the shampoo to kill it and they know they can get it from the hospital.This is all to common with people who are home less or who have very limited incomes.
schools want children to be seen by and some times what they give to them aint strong enough to kill them(lice) also another reason is some parents dont have insurnce on their child(ren). some times it is closer to their house. example.
i live with in with in 6miles of a hospital and 34miles from the drs. office.
First they don’t know emergency from non emergency condition and second they know they will be treated or given medications right away.
It’s a combination of ignorance and system abuse.
